Each year on October 31, the world celebrates sustainable, inclusive, and forward-looking cities through this United Nations initiative – a day to reflect on how urban areas can better serve their people.
This year’s theme – “People-Centered Urban Design” – could not resonate more with the mission of our #StreetsForCitizens project. Across the Euro-MED region, our partner cities are testing and co-creating solutions through tactical urbanism, active mobility initiatives, and community engagement, transforming streets into spaces that truly belong to everyone.
For us, building people-centered cities means more than rethinking traffic flow – it’s about connection, accessibility, and shared ownership of public space. By learning, showing, and sharing, Streets for Citizens helps cities across the region design greener, more livable environments for all. 💚
